The HAE Junior patient organisation would like to share an invitation among the  members of its community to register for the international HAEi LEAP 2024 programme. What is HAEi LEAP and who is it for?

HAEi LEAP is an educational programme organised by the HAE International to coach the next generation of HAE patient advocates worldwide. The programme implies a 3-day in-person seminar abroad, which will take place in mid April 2024, and a 14-day online session. The training is focused on skills such as conducting research, presenting a project and its results, creating content for the web and social media, public speaking, etc. – all thematically targeted to the topic of patient rights advocacy. Applicants should register together with their local patient organisation. As part of the application process, applicants must briefly record a short video of introducing themselves (60 seconds max), write a short description explaining why they want to join HAEi LEAP and introduce the project for supporting their local HAE community. The project will be then provided with a one-time monetary grant from HAE International.

What are the requirements for the registration?

HAE patients as well as their siblings  or family members aged between 16 and 25 can register for the programme. Participants have to be members of a local patient organisation – such as HAE Junior. They should also be able to communicate fluently in English and travel abroad on their own for the workshop. In addition, they should have enough time to attend both the 3-day seminar in mid-April 2024 and the following online training which will last 14 days.
