The Inclusive Scholarships project, launched by the patient organization HAE Junior in 2020, will continue into 2026. The long-term goal of the project is to support children, pupils and students up to the age of 26 living with HAE, and to help them develop their potential despite the limitations associated with this rare condition.
From the launch of the project in 2020 until December 2025, more than 30 inclusive scholarships were awarded to HAE juniors. The support covered educational, sports, language, and artistic activities, including the reimbursement of necessary equipment, as well as participation in camps and outdoor school trips. Thanks to this support, young patients were able to develop new skills, strengthen their self-confidence, and experience a sense of belonging among their peers.
The project aims to reduce the negative impact of HAE on health, mental well-being, social inclusion, and the economic situation of affected families. The supported activities not only enhance personal development and future employability but also create important opportunities for socialisation and inclusion. The project responds to the real needs of young people with HAE, who, due to health limitations, more frequently miss out on school or are unable to participate regularly in sports and leisure activities.
We highly value the feedback from participating families. Parents most often highlight:
These experiences confirm that the project has a meaningful and lasting impact not only on the children themselves but also on their families.
HAE community members who are interested in applying can do so via the application form (in Czech only). The project will continue in 2026 until the available financial funds are exhausted.
We sincerely thank all patient families, partners, and supporters who help make the Inclusive Scholarships project possible.
