The specific problems and situations of female HAE patients are the focus of the ‘Women with HAE’ handbook published by HAE International. The Czech version can now be downloaded in the Infocentre at haejunior.cz. This is the fourth HAEi's educational material for HAE patients that our patient organization has translated for Czech speakers..
The handbook aims to educate HAE patients, as well as family members, healthcare professionals and others about the typical difficulties and challenges faced by women with HAE diagnosis at different stages of life, as well as to present the latest medical recommendations. In approximately 20 pages, the text step by step covers the stages of childhood, puberty, family planning, pregnancy and childbirth, menopause, and old age. Each chapter offers expert commentary on the most common questions women with HAE might want to ask their doctors. These include the risks associated with pregnancy and childbirth, breastfeeding, the impact of hormonal contraception on HAE and its treatment, or the importance of proper collaboration between medical specialists before childbirth, etc. We hope that the guide will enable female Czech patients to lead a happy and fulfilled life despite their HAE diagnosis.

HAE International (HAEi) is a global non-profit network of patient organizations dedicated to improving the lives of HAE patients.
