HAE Junior patient organization joins as a member HAE International (HAEi), the global umbrella organization for the world’s hereditary angioedema (HAE) patient groups.
“This month HAE Junior patient organization celebrates its third anniversary. The opportunity to join HAEi as a member organization amplifies our joy and represents a wonderful reason to celebrate. This membership enables us to broaden the benefits offered to our patient community with valuable access to international patient advocacy & educational events & tools, as well as with excellent networking opportunities.” commented Camelia Isaic, HAE Junior chairwoman.
With a presence in 95 member countries to date, HAEi is a global non-profit network of patient associations dedicated to improving the lives of people with HAE. It offers its member organizations specially designed tools and technical assistance that promote disease education and support activities addressing the unique needs of HAE patients and their families.
In addition, HAEi has partnered with GA2LEN (a non-profit organization of leading clinical and research facilities in the field of allergy and asthma) to establish the GA2LEN/HAEi Angioedema Centers of Reference and Excellence – commonly referred to as ACARE. The ACARE centers work closely with HAEi and HAEi member organizations to further enhance the quality and consistency of clinical care and create a robust environment for local and global HAE research.
