On 16 May, the whole HAE community is celebrating HAE Day for the 13th time in a row. Its aim is to spread awareness of the rare disease HAE among the public, physicians and health professionals, as well as healthcare decision-makers and companies in the healthcare sector. By raising HAE awareness we can enable the earliest possible diagnosis of the disease and improve the overall quality of life of HAE patients. Since 2020, our patient organization has been regularly participating in global campaigns, run by HAE International, as well as carrying out our own activities for the Czech audience.
HAEi's official campaign of collecting steps for sports and free time activities continues until 31 May. Until then, you can still contribute your steps to our patient organization and also push the Czech Republic up in the country ranking. It's simple – visit www.haeday.org and enter the number of hours you spent running, doing yoga, walking with a stroller or even reading, then tick the country and select our patient organization. Currently we have already gained 3 000 000 steps. Will you help move us up the chart?
We'd like to invite young creators among HAE juniors and their friends or siblings to enter our newly launched art challenge, which will run until December 2024. Drawings or paintings themed "My Inspiration" should feature heroes, real or fictional characters or creatures, as well as the joys that inspire young artists and help them overcome the challenges caused by the rare disease HAE. We accept images painted using watercolor, aquarelle or tempera, as well as full A3 or A4 portrait drawings. Click here for further instructions and to fill out the entry form.
On the occasion of HAE Day, we would like to remind you that we continue to collect personal wishes, messages and feedback from our members, healthcare professionals and partners, as well as parents and relatives of HAE patients. We are planning to use them in a digital campaign to mark our organization's 5th birthday. You can send us your contributions by 20th June using this form. The campaign itself will be held at the end of this year.
tHAEnks! to your participation – you are helping us spread awareness of HAE disease and the HAE Junior patient organization!
